(Entering 3-5th grade only)

Summer 2008

Think Gumby, Chicken Run, or Wallace & Grommit…except campers animate their own characters using Zeum’s patented curriculum, and top-quality video cameras, software and computers! The Animation day is structured similar to our Arts & Science days except that we devote two stations out of the day to stopmotion animation. Of course, we still make room for Recreation and Team Time so campers get plenty of fresh air and exercise!

Includes: Healthy lunch everyday, USB 1GB personal storage device, computer lab access, camper t-shirt or prize, FREE museum passes, 1 staff: 6 camper ratio, plus “Give Me More” sheets with daily recap and additional resources.

Entering 3-5th grade campers can enroll in up to 6 week-long sessions! (3 Arts & Science and 3 Animation sessions) 6 weeks recommended for full Edmo experience and biggest savings!

Session D: Clay Kingdom

Here’s your chance to breathe life into your own cast of crazy fairytale characters! Build ogres, fairies, princes, hobbits, queens, dragons or never-before seen creatures out of clay and then see what happens when you animate them in a kingdom you and your friends create!

Incoming 3rd-5th graders—See what magic we’ve got up our sleeve in our Magic & Medieval Times session. You can do both Session D & A!

Session E: Grub Town

Have you ever talked to your food? What if it talked back? What would a granola bar say to a candy bar? How would a kumquat walk? Try saying that 5 times fast. You’ll animate some of your favorite foods and give them silly personalities (actually, more like “food-analities”, but you know what we mean).

Incoming 3rd-5th graders—Check out the freaky stuff food does in our Incredible Edibles session. You can do both Session E & B!

Session F: Critterville

Beasts of all sizes and shapes start crawling, slithering, jumping, flying or even transforming right before your very eyes! Bring your favorite animals to life or make up completely new ones, like a rhinopumaroo or a tigerpotamus or an allibirdpanzee or a…now it’s your turn, silly goosapig.

Incoming 3rd-5th graders—Go wild over animals in our Creature Feature session. You can do both Session F & C!

"My son loved the clay animation session he did last summer that he’s kept doing it throughout the school year. The software he used at camp was very reasonable to download and now I feel like he’s getting the most out of our home computer!"

  "Give me More!" Sheets
Campers bring home "Give me More!" sheets that detail what they learned each day. These "Give me More!" sheets also provide a listing of websites, books, community events, museums expositions and other resources so that parents can fuel their child's excitement to learn more at home as well.

  GROUPS

Camper to staff ratio 8:1

Campers divided into groups according to age

Groups are generally 16 - 18 campers

We will do our best to keep friends in the same group, but we also know that part of the fun of camp is getting to know new people and making new friends. Every day each group rotates through the Science, Fine Arts, Recreation and Team Time activities. The whole camp comes together for Morning Rally, Snack time, Lunch time, and the afternoon More Fun & Games time.

  Important Notes on Curriculum

All learning activities are adjusted depending on the age group of the children.

On rare occasion we may need to modify weekly activities due to material availability and/or time constraints.
