Summer 2008
We always start and end the day with wacky camp songs and games. Then campers rotate through hands-on Arts & Science stations that revolve around a creative weekly theme (a little history, math and geography might sneak their way in too, but trust us…it all feels like play). All activities must pass our rigorous in-house “Fun Factor” test or we simply won’t do them. Add outdoor Recreation games and “free choice” Team Time and now you know why parents always ask us if they can come to camp too!
Includes: Healthy lunch everyday, camper t-shirt or prize, FREE museum passes, 1 staff: 8 camper ratio, plus “Give Me More” sheets with daily recap and additional resources.
Entering K-5 campers can enroll in 1, 2 or 3 week-long Arts & Science sessions. 3 weeks recommended for full Edmo experience and biggest savings!
Session A: Magic & Medieval Times
Calling all wizards and sorceresses! Amaze your friends and family as you learn magic tricks that use science to make things like metal paperclips fuse in mid-air, plastic shapes shrink, rice krispies jump and whole eggs suck themselves into bottles! Then design your very own castle, dragon, royal banner, magic wand and other wondrous art projects!
3rd-5th graders — Fancy magic, do you? You can do both Session A & D! Hark yonder at our Animation session, Clay Kingdom!
Session B: Incredible Edibles
Playing with food has never been this fun! Our scrumptious science experiments include making ice cream, magnetic cereal, natural soda, and color-changing cabbage juice (that last one actually isn’t that tasty, but still pretty cool)! Then create a real potato head buddy, famous fruit painting, veggie face collage and more art projects inspired by everyday foods!
3rd-5th graders — Like this flavor? You can do both Session B & E! Give our Animation session, Grub Town, a lick!
Session C: Creature Feature
What’s in an owl’s stomach? How sharp are a bobcat’s teeth? How does an ant smell its food? Can a squirrel fly? Find out when you come face-to-face with a real bobcat skull, embark on a bug hunt, dissect an owl pellet, or craft a paper glider to understand how some 4-legged mammals have learned to fly. Oh yeah, then paint, sculpt and draw your favorite creatures in art!
3rd-5th graders — Love animals? You can do both Session C & F! Try petting our Animation session, Critterville. It’s friendly!
