Featuring hands-on activities designed by the Bay Area’s best:
Edventure More campers are typically kids entering K-5th grade in the Fall of 2008. This means they are usually 5-10 years old when they attend camp.
Entering 5th-9th grade kids can enroll in Edventure Tech, our digital music, movies, and animation camp for middle schoolers.
What safety precautions do you take?
In addition to our own training, the YMCA provides First Aid, CPR certification and General Safety & Policy training for our staff
We maintain an 8:1 ratio between campers and staff
Campers sign in and sign out every day and are only released to adults you specify on the enrollment forms
Do you serve food?
YES! We partner with Kid Chow to deliver healthy, delicious hot and cold lunches to camp every day. Their most popular items are automatically included with your enrollment, but you can also customize if you think you might have a picky eater at home. View the Kid Chow Menu and see their newest culinary creations, faster customization options, and accommodations for practically any allergic sensitivity!
Contact Rob or Jamie, Kid Chow founders, directly if you have more specific questions…just don’t call too late. They get up at 5am to make lunches so you don’t have to. E-mail: chow@kidchow.com Phone: 415.830.0089
Can
my child bring toys to camp?
Only
if you want them broken. We ask that campers refrain
from bringing their own toys, game boys, etc.
to camp. We promise to have many other fun activities
to fill their day.

children ever leave the site?

Do
you offer a “drop in” camp enrollment option?
Because we use a real curriculum featuring activities designed by the Bay Area’s best museums, some of our projects take place over the course of 2-3 days. Quality art and science projects designed to foster a life-long love of learning simply can’t be rushed. We are committed to delivering the best service, but to be able to do that, we need a little commitment from our families. Trust us, after a day…they’ll want to stay the week…and more!
Who
are the Edventure More! Instructors and Counselors?
Edventure More! Instructors are all college graduates or credentialed teachers. Edventure More! Counselors are college students or senior high school students who are passionate about education and kids. We will send staff bios in your welcome packets.
How
do you choose your Edventure More! Instructors
and Counselors?
We
look for people with a passion and commitment for
the subject they lead at camp. They must have previous
experience working with children, a contagious enthusiasm
for education and recreation, and be flexible in
their teaching methods.
How
do you group the children?
We divide campers into groups according to age.
Group 1: Kindergarten
Group 2: 1st and 2nd graders
Group 3: 3rd to 5th graders
Each group contains approximately 15-20 kids each.
We maintain
an 8:1 ratio between campers and staff
Will
my child be in the same group as his/her friends?
We
will do our best to accommodate friends in the
same group. However, we also recognize camp is
a great place to make new friends and meet new
people.
Which
“session” is most appropriate for my
child?
Part of our goal at Edventure More! is
to help children discover new interests and passions.
Regardless of their prior inclinations they are
sure to enjoy each and every one of our programs.
We are designed to be fun!
Do
you have extended care?
Yes we do. Morning extended care runs from 8am-9am, Mon-Fri, and costs $30/week. Afternoon extended care runs from 3:00-5:30, Mon-Fri, and costs $60/week. Extended care can be purchased on a daily basis directly with the camp director for $10/hour.
See our Price page for big discounts on extended care when you enroll in our “Value” or “Ultimate Edmo” bundles.
Why are you more expensive than other big camps?
Some big camps “warehouse” kids in giant camps where kids get can get lost in the shuffle. We keep our camp sizes intimate, meaning low camper:staff ratios, and set very high standards for who we hire. We have set counselors for each group who actually spend the entire week with your child, getting to know them, their name (even without name tags!), their strengths, their challenges, their favorite hobbies and anything else they’d like to share with us. Top all that off with fun, hands-on curriculums designed by the best museums in the Bay Area and it’s easy to see how we’ve been so successful building real role model relationships with kids and inspiring them well beyond their hours at camp. While some camps may focus on “bells & whistles”; we focus on friendships and creating a close-knit culture where being curious is cool.
Why are your camps cheaper than other specialty camps?
A big reason for that is that we are a non-profit organization. We are not held accountable to investors or shareholders. We only care about you bringing you the highest quality service at the most reasonable price possible. Thanks to our Edmo Bundles, you save time and money by getting lunch included plus discounted extended care when you enroll in mujltiple weeks of camp.
Do
you have a refund policy?
We offer a 100% refund until April 15th. (($25 processing fee per camper still applies for cancellations). 75% refund until June 1. On or after June 1st there are no refunds. Space permitting, sessions may be transferred from one week to another. Missed days of camp are not refunded.
How did you come up with the name "Edventure More!"?
We wanted a name that not only described what we do, but was also a call to action. Through our camp we hope to inspire kids to learn in a fun and adventurous way well after they have come and gone from camp. We train our staff, design our curriculum and structure our day in order to inspire a lifelong curiosity for learning about one's self and the world around us. (If you look closely you can also find the name of both founders in our camp name : ).
Edventure Tech is our new digital media camp for entering 5th-9th graders. Keeping with our tradition of working with institutions at the forefront of their fields, we’ve partnered with Zeum and the Bay Area Video Coalition to design movie making, music production and clay animation programs for our older campers.
